After a long winter, spring brings us a feeling of renewal and excitement. We can't help but be inspired by the shift in the landscape from those wintery neutrals of brown, gray, and white to the vibrant hues of spring! If the new season has got you feeling like you want to bring some more color into your home, now is the perfect time to paint.
Spring doesn't come along at the beginning of the year, but it always seems like it gives us the chance for a fresh start. While you might be focused on giving your wardrobe a refresh for spring, it's a great time to think about doing the same for your home. If your home is in need of a new coat of paint, spring is the perfect time to do it!
As the name suggests, blue grey paint is a shade of blue with gray undertones. This gives it a more subdued look than a traditional blue. It's a perfect blend of bright and more muted colors that gives you a balanced and soothing hue. Within this color family, there are a range of shades from light to dark, and also some that have more gray with blue undertones.
The first step to repairing drywall for painting is to fill all those holes, dents, and gauges. For any small ones, it's a fairly quick and easy process. Use a pre-mixed or mix it yourself drywall compound and fill the necessary areas, making sure to smooth the compound out. It's a good idea to use two coats, just to be sure it's evenly filled. Then, allow the compound to dry and go over the area with sandpaper to smooth it out.
